Deacons
Roles and Responsibilities:

Demonstrate a significant commitment to leadership in GBHAC through the study of God's Word, prayer, excellence in conduct, and compliance with the qualifications and responsibilities of Elder as described in the GBHAC bylaws.

Attend board of Deacons / Deaconesses meeting exceeding 80% attendance during each year of service.

Perform hospitality duties for church events such as: Easter, Christmas, Trainings, New Years, picnics, retreats, funerals and when asked by other committees.

Visit members of GBHAC so that you may get to know the congregants and those who are in need of benevolence

Perform usher duties when needed such as: collecting offering, counting members, seating members.

Prepare monthly communion; may be asked to help administer communion when GBHAC is short of elders.

Should have at least one mercy outreach a year

Should connect with congregants by greeting and meeting with them prior to the start of service. Should be at church by 9:30am weekly.

Meet with mourning family along with the Deacons and Deaconesses to plan and implement funeral arrangements according to GBHAC funeral policies.
