The Elder's primary objective is to work in concert with the rest of

the Board of Elders to oversee and care for the spiritual well-being of

all the members of Green Bay Hmong Alliance Church.

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate a significant commitment to leadership in GBHAC

through the study of God's Word, prayer, excellence in conduct,

and compliance with the qualifications and responsibilities of Elder

as described in the GBHAC bylaws.

 

• Attend monthly Elder meetings exceeding 80% attendance in each

year of service.

 

• Offer wisdom and counsel to GBHAC members who

request individual guidance or dispute arbitration.

 

• Confront individuals in the congregation who are disrupting the

unity of the body or failing to repent of habitual sins.

 

• Provide formal instruction for GBHAC in a way that best

fits the Elder, such as teaching a Sunday school class, leading a

retreat, etc.

 

• Help administer communion when GBHAC receives it. May need to prepare communion when Deacons are not available.

 

• Active advisors on committees and ministries to provide

direction.

 

• Pray and lead at GBHAC member’s social events: i.e. birthdays, thanksgiving meals,

 

• Visitations and connecting with congregants of GBHAC.

 

• Seek out at least one younger member of GBHAC to

disciple on a regular basis.

 

• Seek out the lost and the members who are not coming to church as well and restore to them to church.

 

• Visit and pray for members who are sick at home or at the hospital

 

• Should be involved in and encourage other church ministries like Youth fellowship, SAM’s fellowship, Senior’s ministry, Alliance Men, Alliance Women, and other events held by GBHAC.

 

• Should connect with congregants by greeting and meeting with them prior to the start of service. Should be at church by 9:30am weekly.

 

• Meet with mourning family along with the Deacons and Deaconesses to plan and implement funeral arrangements according to GBHAC funeral policies.

 

• Meet with the bride or groom’s house to negotiate cultural wedding process should the bride or groom requests. It shall be done according to GBHAC wedding policy.
